Do you know why my weekly payment status is blocked in the Dasher app? It says Deposited to bank with Blocked status. I have contacted the DoorDash support team before, and they said that my payment will be received within 24 hours, but no money came even after waiting for 2 days.
When I contacted them again they advised me to check my banking information and they assumed my banking details were incorrect. I double-check my payment profile inside the app and everything is accurate. Then I was patient while waiting and hoped that I would just get the payment next week. Unfortunately, another week has passed but my last week’s payment is still stuck there.
Do you have any suggestions on what I should do now? This is my first payment experience with DoorDash after I was accepted as Dasher two weeks ago. I didn’t know it would be this complicated just to get paid. Thanks.
Hi Brian, I’m sorry to hear that. I know how it feels to have not received money that is rightfully ours. Especially if the money came from our hard work for a week or probably more. Maybe it’s not a lot of money, only hundreds of dollars. But still, it’s your own money and maybe you really need it right now.
Actually, the Blocked DoorDash payment is a common issue on this platform. It’s a question that Dashers frequently ask out there. I’ve found several drivers asking about this. But don’t worry, this time we will try to tell what Blocked status means and also some possible solutions that can be tried.
What does Deposited to bank Blocked mean?
As we know DooDash drivers will get paid on a weekly basis. Your weekly payments are transferred on Monday directly to your bank account through Direct Deposit. If there are no problems, the payment will arrive at your bank account 2-3 days later. You can track your payment in the Earnings history menu.
When there are no problems in the payment process, the payment history will show the payment was Initiated by DoorDash with a green check mark icon. On the other hand, if there is a problem in the process, you will see a red exclamation mark icon with the words Blocked under Deposited to the bank.
In some cases, in the Dasher app, a notification message will also appear on the weekly payment history page. It says, “There’s an issue with your transfer – Please check that all of your personal info is correct and we’ll re-process your payment.” followed by an Update info button.
When you see Blocked status in the weekly deposit history, you won’t receive your payment to your bank account until this issue is sorted out. Therefore, you as a Dasher must be proactive to solve it. Below are examples of the two-screen captures we are referring to.
Why did I get blocked?
We will never know the exact reason why our bank account was blocked when it was used to receive payments. When we ask the support team via phone call, email or live chat they will give general answers like we enter the wrong bank account details. Even though in reality there is nothing wrong there.
You need to know that DoorDash utilizes services from a third party to process payments on its platform. The company works with Stripe to process Dasher’s weekly deposit. This may be the reason why sometimes the DoorDash support team have limited capability to find out the source of the problem.
The following are some of the things that might be the reason why Dasher’s weekly payment got blocked.
1. New Dasher and first direct deposit payment
This is the most valid reason for us. Because all Dashers experiencing this problem are newly registered delivery drivers. Almost all drivers experiencing this problem admit that this is their first weekly direct deposit payment with DoorDash.
2. Input wrong bank account details
Even though it is similar to the reason mentioned by support, but this can also be the reason why your weekly payment got blocked. There is nothing wrong with double-checking every detail such as your bank account number and some other details such as your BSB number (AU-based Dasher), and routing number (US-based Dasher).
3. Changing your bank account information
If you recently changed your bank details inside the Dasher app, then your payment will be blocked for the next 24 hours, and it might delay your payment until the next Monday. This is a security measure by DoorDash to protect its driver’s earnings from malicious activity.
4. Verification required
As we mentioned earlier if DoorDash uses services from Stripe, a third-party company that will process your automatic weekly direct deposit. It’s possible that Stripe needs additional information about you from DoorDash before it can process your payment.
As a financial service, Stripe may apply Know Your Customer (KYC) guidelines to its services. Possibly when they feel the need for additional verification about you such as your address which must match your other details, they will request it via DoorDash.

Possible Fix for Blocked Direct Deposit Payment
As far as we know, until now there is no fixed solution to get rid of this issue. However, there are some actions that might help you get out of this blocked payment problem. Here are the possible fixes we got from the Dasher experience out there.
1. Re-enter your banking details (via driver app)
This is the most suggested solution by Dashers, all you need to do is edit your direct deposit details. You can do it again even if the information you entered is correct. There’s no harm in double-checking your details before re-submitting it.
As you know, in some countries such as Australia, when setting up Direct Deposit Dashers are required to re-verify their identity. This is still mandatory even though you have previously provided it when signing up as a Dasher. The reason is that it is not DoorDash that processes payments but a third party, in this case, Stripe.
2. Re-enter your banking details (via a web browser)
We’ve also noticed that some Dashers suggest re-entering banking details via a web browser instead of the Dasher app. They also suggest doing it via a browser on a computer, not a smartphone.
You can try to sign in to your Dasher account at the DoorDash website via a web browser. You will be asked to enter your driver’s email and password, sometimes they will also verify your login via text message due to security purposes. After logging in, delete your current bank info and add it again. In the form make sure to put the bank details manually and not copy and paste.
Why is it recommended to do it via computer and avoid copy-pasting? Actually, this is only to avoid errors that appear when copy-pasting account details. Since there is a possibility when copying and pasting banking details into a form, there are spaces between the numbers that the system doesn’t tell you about this and will cause headaches later on.
3. Make sure your bank account is not a saving account
Before entering your banking details make sure it is not a savings bank account. Considering that DoorDash cannot deposit payments into savings accounts. Ensure the account provided is a checking account (US) or transaction account (AU).
4. Call or Live Chat Support
This is probably the solution that you should do before trying other solutions. Reach Dasher support from DoorDash via phone call or online live chat which is the preferred method for getting help. Because both methods allow you to get a prompt response from them.
When communicating with your support team, you may be offered several solutions to overcome the blocked payment issue. For example, re-entering your banking details as we explained earlier. Sometimes they will also guide you to supply the required information like an address to verify your banking details.
To find out if all the actions you have taken have been successful you must regularly check the weekly deposit history and see if the blocked status has disappeared or if it is still there. You need to remember that although this problem has been resolved, your payment will be processed in the next payment cycle or the next Monday.
Alternative Payment Method
Direct Deposit is the main method for paying Dasher’s hard-earned money. Actually, there is no problem with this payment method because earnings are received in a fairly fast time. However, there is one weakness that stands out the most, which is that we have to wait until Monday next week to be transferred.
To complement and overcome the weaknesses that exist in the main payment method, DoorDash offers an alternative payment method for Dasher.
1. Fast Pay
A payment method that allows Dashers to cash out their earnings on a daily basis. By using a debit card from a partner bank, delivery drivers can cash out their daily earnings with no fee up to once per day. Find out more about DoorDash Fast Pay in Australia.
2. DasherDirect
This is the hottest payment method that is intended to overcome the weaknesses of other methods. Dashers will get paid right away and get access to the money right after every completed Dash, automatically. No fees, and no daily limits. Same as Fast pay this method is only available in a limited region, only for US drivers for now.

Same. Support was absolutely useless, they don’t know what they are doing, asked the same question over and over again, in circles. Can’t be any more clear than: why does it say PAYMENT BLOCKED. Please help.

I just started and it’s the same problem. I’ve been on the chat 💬 with multiple agents(4) and they keep “recommending” me to wait 2 more days for my deposit which was supposed to have been there sept 20 and I did wait and of course, it gets blocked again. I got 135$ my first paycheck(which I’m still wating) and my 2nd week I made 25$. I can take the 25$ off no problem but ni way can I take out the 135$
