The on-demand food delivery industry in Australia appears to be a very potential market. There are many locals and international companies that opened their services in the country. Some big names like Menulog which is a local company that has been operating for more than a decade, UK-based company Deliveroo, Uber Eats and DoorDash, another US company that has just launched this year.
As a DoorDash customer in Australia, you may have experienced troubles either related to your order such as missed an item / incorrect order, the order taking longer than expected, and so on. As a DoorDash driver, you may also experience issues and the most popular one is an issue related to driver orientation and activation that hold you from being able to deliver with DoorDash.
As a delivery service company, customer service is crucial to be able to compete and win the competition. A customer certainly expects quick assistance to be able to overcome issues related to their services.
For this reason, DoorDash also complements its services with customer support both for customers and drivers. You can access help in several ways whenever and wherever you require it. The following are some ways to get support from DoorDash Customer Service.
Contents
DoorDash Contact Number
DoorDash also equips their support team with a phone line, so for those of you who want to get solutions and responses to the issues you deal with, you can quickly call their support phone numbers wherever you are while in Australia.
You can contact the DoorDash support team through the following phone number:
1800 958 316
They don’t separate phone lines for customers and drivers, so make sure you mention who you are to them at the beginning of the conversation in order to obtain appropriate answers.
Virtual Office via Zoom
Face to face support with customer service is the most effective problem-solving method. Because the customer can convey the problem better. However, with the current pandemic conditions, this cannot be done.
Fortunately, DoorDash provides an opportunity, especially for its delivery partners, to contact its support team face-to-face with the help of Zoom, the most popular video chat service. They call this kind of support as a Virtual Office.
They available from Monday to Friday, starting from 9:00 AM (AEST) to 5:00 PM (AEST). You can enter the virtual office by clicking the meeting link on this Google Drive page.
Chat with Support Agent
If you need help relating to placed order, or as a delivery driver you wants to report something during pickup or delivery, then asking for help through DoorDash in-app chat agent is the most recommended way.
By contacting a support agent via in-app chat, you can report your problem and you will get information or solutions mostly right away.
For DoorDash Customer:
- Select the Order tab at the bottom of the screen.
- Choose an order where you have a problem with it.
- Tap Help in the corner of the order screen.
- Select “Chat with Support” to be connected to an agent.
For DoorDash Driver:
- Tap Help or question mark (?) in the corner of the screen when you on a live order.
- Select “Something Else”.
- Hit “Start Chat” to be associated with a driver support agent.
Online Help Documentation
When there is something you don’t know about DoorDash, it is strongly recommended to read their Help Documentation at help.doordash.com.
There you might be able to find the answers that you would like to ask before contacting customer service through other media. The documentation is very comprehensive and well structured since they separate the documentation for consumers, drivers (Dasher) and merchants.
Customer & Dasher Contact Form
In case you can’t discover the topic you want to ask in the Help Documentation, you can directly contact them via the provided web-based help form. You can ask just about all difficulties related to DoorDash there and answers to your inquiry will be replied via email.
DoorDash Local Office
At this time DoorDash still hasn’t opened a local office in Australia either in Sydney or Melbourne. They only open local offices for Driver Orientation in cities where their services are available. You can schedule an orientation and see the location of the office after your document requirements have been approved (refer to the dasher sign up process).
The screenshot above is an example of a DoorDash Orientation Office in Sydney, however, you cannot come to the orientation location without scheduling an appointment and there is a possibility that the location has relocated or closed someday. The most recent location can be found after you pick your orientation schedule.

I am interested in partnering with doordash.
However I would like to talk to someone from your Sydney office.
I have had a harrowing experience with menulog that has seen me emailing and calling them over 3 weeks…still no luck…their comprehension is zero and they just pass you on to the next person.
Technology is fine, however personal contact is imperative in business.
Let’s see how doordash performs.
